The Amandit River

The Amandit River is the biggest river in South Hulu Sungai Regency. This river
has good scenery, on both sides of the river, there is forest. The
river has swift current which
isgood for adventure. Its water is very clean and many
kinds of fish live in the river.
Amandit River is very famous in South Kalimantan Province. Formerly, the river was used by local people
as a means of
transportation. They used bamboo rafts to bring the agricultural products and then sold them to a small town. Nowdays, its function is changed
not only as means of transportation but also as one of the tourist’ s destinations.
Many visitors go there to enjoy the
exotic panorama of this river. Tourists use bamboo rafts on the river. Sometimes they can see some rare animals that live
there. The animals that visitors can find include monkeys, pigs, monitor lizards, bakantan (long nose monkeys), and many others. The Amandit River gives freshness of nature and
new experience.
