Long time ago before Loksado Village existed,
according to the legend, there existed Kalampaian Village, about three
kilometers from Loksado Village that we know now. But nowdays the Kalampaian Village
has changed into a forest. The remainder
of villagers’ houses can still be found in this place.
It was said that the name of Kalampaian Village is derived
from the name of a tree that is Kalampaian tree. The Kalampaian tree was very
big and had dense leaves and stood strongly in the middle of the village, like
an umbrella that protected the village from the sun.
As a trading center, Kalampaian Village was crowded
because it was visited by many people from neighboring villages. Public necessities brought by people for days on foot.
In that time, the only way was a path. Traders and
brokers came from Kandangan and Barabai
towns to this village. They bought rattan, sintuk, cinnamon, rubber and fruits which they brought
to Kandangan via the Amandit river by bamboo rafts. The trading system at that
time, beside using money, was a barter system.
Loksado Village
at present was originally a strategic bay as a safe place to moore some bamboo
rafts. Many brokers and traders built their houses in this place. From the brokers
were obtained money as a result of buying and selling activities by using a currency
known gobang-gobang before the
rupiah, which by the tongue of the people, was called gubang-gubang. Gubang by the local people is another name for the beast called Sado. They often played on the word Gubang as Sado. From this,
the word Loksado becomes familiar until now. That is the origin of Loksado Village.
